Orelle is a small village at the valley floor just after the Frejus tunnel. From here a long cable car leads to the Plan Bouchet Refuge at 2300 m altitude, where the slopes begin with 3 chairlifts leading from one side immediately under P.te du Bouchet, where the highest point of the district is located. On the other hand, the Rosael chair lift takes skiers to Val Thorens, where, with skis on their feet, it is possible to access all other places in the Les Trois Vallées area. In the valley of the Maurienne Orelle is the gateway to the 3 Vallées. From the village at 880 meters climb up to the highest peak of the 3 Vallées, the Bouchet (3240 m).
The Orelle / Val Thorens station offers 150 km of pistes, 82 runs and 31 lifts. The kilometers of slopes become as many as 300 when considering the whole Vallée des Belleville: (Orelle, Val Thorens, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires) and 600 throughout the Les Trois Vallées: (Val Thorens, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires , Méribel, La Tania, Courchevel) always connected skis.
Another attraction is the 70,000 square meter Snowpark. In addition there is a 1.4 km boardercross track with jumping table where you can measure your skills. Experts will also be able to try the Col de Ludzin piste with its 12 km of slopes situated up to an altitude of 1,400 m or the black slopes of Compe de Caron, 6 km.
In most ski lifts and at many stations and restaurants in the ski area you have access to Wi-Fi hotspots.
And for those who want more skiing fun, they can take advantage of nightly skiing twice a week (in good weather conditions).
Curiosity: Val Thorens in recent years has become the mecca of the "Beyond skiing" French. With over 20 bars and 3 discos we can say that there is something for everyone. Our tip: Le Monde, the international Aprés-ski bar! The party starts when the sun sets, whether on the large terrace, in the chalet-type room or in the comfortable underground tavern. For lovers of the night the party continues in the "Malaysia" disco.
Doozy: In the highest ski area in Europe you have the possibility to access a first class snowpark. The "Val Thorens Snowpark", located on an altitude of between 2 500 m and 2 600 m, has a length of 600 m, extending over an area of 70 000 m² in the "Plateaux" sector near the gondola "Gand Fond" . Here you will find a variety of jumps and rails in four different levels of difficulty: green, blue, red and black. In this way the park is suitable for everyone, from beginners to freestyle experts. Next to the park, lovers of speed and other fans of this discipline can try their hand at the boardercross course. There is also a big air bag, ideal for refining your tricks. Directly next to the park runs a ski lift that quickly brings you back to the beginning of the lines.
It is possible to transport your own ski / snowboard equipment
